UC Holds Women’s Football Clinic

The sixth annual University of Cincinnati Women’s Football Clinic was on display tonight.  The clinic is being hosted this year by none other than Barb Jones, the wife of Head Football Coach Butch Jones.

"We have a great event planned for June 21 at Nippert Stadium,” head football coach Butch Jones said. “This is a chance for participants to support a worthy cause, get a behind-the-scenes look at our football program, and really increase your knowledge of football. I look forward to seeing a big crowd at the clinic.”"

The clinic serves not only as a way to bring women together for a better understanding of the game itself, it also serves as a fundraiser for a fantastic cause.  All proceeds from the event will benefit breast cancer research and the Barrett Cancer Center at University Hospital in Cincinnati.  Last year, a record $13,000 was raised for the Barrett Cancer Center.

With the help of the University of Cincinnati Bearcats coaching staff, women will strive to obtain a better understanding of America’s most popular sport, football.  No longer will weekends on the couch be “me” time for guys but rather “we” time after these ladies leave this clinic.
