Lockout Over – 4 Former Bearcats Signed

With the NFL Lockout ending earlier this week, today NFL teams could sign undrafted college players.  As the day concluded, four former University of Cincinnati Bearcats were signed.

The four selected were:

Jake Rogers – Kicker, New Orleans Saints – had an impressive career with the Bearcats.  Scored over 70 points in all four seasons as UC’s place kicker.  The all-time points leader for a kicker at UC with 339 points.

Vidal Hazelton – Wide Receiver, San Diego Chargers – highly anticipated transfer from USC that never really panned out for the Bearcats.  After sitting out the required year for transferring, Vidal was supposed to anchor the UC Bearcats receiving corp.  Unfortunately, during the Bearcats first game of the 2010 season, Hazelton was returning a kickoff when he was tackled and tore a ligament in his knee causing season ending surgery.  Showed tons of promise while at USC, so this could be a huge pickup for San Diego.

Ben Guidugli – Tight End, St. Louis Rams – started 3 seasons at tight end for the Bearcats. Known for his excellent blocking skills and good hands. Will reunite with another former UC standout Marty Gilyard in St. Louis.

Armon Binns – Wide Receiver, Jacksonville Jaguars – 2 year starter for the Bearcats. Had back to back 1,000 yards receiving seasons while recording 21 touchdowns over the past 2 seasons. With Sims-Walker struggling last season, I know that David Garrard will be excited to have Armon to throw to this season.

Good luck to all our former UC Bearcats as they begin their new careers… We’ll be watching on Sundays!
