Mick Cronin’s Baffling Take on the Big East

This is one hell of a rant from Scott at Bearcats Blog and I definitely agree with him. The advantages of the Big East from a national interest and recruiting standpoint has been phenomenal for the development of the Cincinnati basketball program. Those advantages are directly related to how difficult the conference is and the ability to sell matchups with top-25 teams like Syracuse and Pitt. With them leaving the conference, it does nothing but weaken the basketball league and Bearcats basketball.

Winn Finding his Niche

Besides Pead, George Winn is the most experienced back on the Bearcats. He’s settled in nicely into his primary role this year as a second blocker on passes or when the ball isn’t in his hands. When he does get his carries he’s a tough back to bring down as a hard-nosed north-south runner. Frankly I think the coaching staff should nix any QB draws involving Collaros and just have Winn run on a dive or iso to get the first down on 3rd and short.
