Cincinnati’s Matchup with Syracuse Officially Sold Out

I read a nice tweet this morning from Lindsey Delscamp, UC’s Director of Ticket Operations:

It looks like there will be 13,176+ on hand to watch Cincinnati play #1 Syracuse on Monday. Student tickets have been gone for over a week now because that’s what UC students do: They buy up tickets, show up to games, and are an outright nuisance to opposing teams. Essentially if you give UC students the challenge to fill up a section of the arena/stadium they do so and then some. They are always a lock to sell out their portion of the tickets. But it’s especially encouraging to know that the seats parallel to the benches will be just as packed as the student section.

The Bearcats are on an incredible run winning 10 of their last 11 games. They have established themselves as a top-tier Big East team this season knocking of perennial powers Georgetown, Villanova, Pitt, Notre Dame, and most recently UConn in stunning fashion. If Cincinnati secures a win against West Virginia on Saturday they will most certainly be ranked heading into this game that will be nationally televised (ESPN @ 7:00 PM EST). I’ll get into a more detailed preview sometime in the next few days but in short UC has more than a fighting chance in this game. Syracuse has been cruising as the #1 team in the nation and rightfully so but Cincinnati is by far the hottest team right now. The momentum of beating UConn and hopefully West Virginia along with the excitement of returning to the friendly confines of 5/3rd will give the team an extra spring in their step. The news that The Shoe will be packed to the rafters with Bearcat fans only adds to the anticipation for this game.
