The Journey of John Law: Cincinnati to UTC to Appalachian State

This came as news to me this morning as John Law has apparently committed to Appalachian State of the FCS Southern Conference. Just hours after I posted about the 2012 class for Cincinnati basically staying together, it appears Law will sign with the Mountaineers. But that’s not the entire story. About a month ago, he apparently switched his commitment from the Bearcats to the University of Chattanooga Mocs. It has always been strange that Coach Jones had allowed so many linebackers (8 at the time) in one class. The Bearcats are in deep need of linebackers but 8 was getting ridiculous. It seems with the commitments of guys like Kenneth Bynum and Eyshawn McClain, Law’s stock was falling in the eyes of Cincinnati’s coaching staff and he would struggle to find playing time.

Now he will land at a strong FCS program and probably warrant playing time early in his college career. The only thing I can do now is wish him the best of luck.
