It’s been an exciting National Signing Day so far. Of the 30-or-so verbal commitments yesterday, all but Dennis Norfleet, Lester Liston, and Vincent Miller have signed. Norfleet is staying close to home and will be a Michigan Wolverine, Lester Liston because of grade issues will be heading to a prep school in Virginia, and Vincent Miller is nowhere to be found. But the final UC verbal to not yet sign with the Bearcats is Kenneth Bynum. As you may have heard, he was offered yesterday by Tennessee. Derek Dooley, in obvious desperation mode, asked Kenneth to hold off on signing with Cincinnati and visit Knoxville on an official visit to get a feel for the UT football program.
At this point, Bynum is expected to travel there this upcoming weekend (the 4th) and will probably make a decision shortly thereafter. There’s not much more for UC fans to do except wait and hope he sees that he will be viewed as a highly rated athlete in the eyes of Cincinnati versus a backup plan in the eyes of Tennessee. He also has to appreciate that Coach Jones had been recruiting him for well over a year now and his Raines High School teammate Ey’Shawn McClain is Bearcat-bound.
