Buckeyes, ‘Cats rarely play, but rivalry is bitter

This is obviously a more heated game to the fanbase than the players. Both teams played just once since the infamous 1962 game and that was in 2006. This fact is probably engrained more in the people in the stands than the people on the court. It’s far from the rivalry that is UC-Xavier and Ohio State-Michigan and mirrors the anticipation of a game between Bowling Green and South Carolina. The only thing that will make this game intense from a player perspective is what is on the line; a birth in the Elite 8 on Saturday against the winner of Syracuse-Wisconsin.
