New Starters: DT Camaron Beard

I’m absolutely giddy with the prospect of seeing what Camaron Beard can do at defensive tackle next season. He’s a physical beast who the coaches thankfully redshirted his freshman year. He got his feet wet in 2011 and will line up next to Jordan Stepp next season at the defensive tackle position. He was able to beef up to near 278 lbs last season and will hopefully add another 15-20 lbs before the season opener against Pitt. I think he’s going to be a special, 3 year player at Cincinnati.

Spring Football 2012: George Winn Interview

The responsibility of replacing Isaiah Pead will fall on the broad shoulders of George Winn. Mostly filling in as an extra blocker/3rd down running back in 2011, UC fans saw his potential during that fantastic touchdown run against Vanderbilt. He’s the most experienced back on the team and certainly understand the Jones/Bajakian offense well. It’s too early to tell exactly what percentage of snaps he will get in the fall but you can bet he’s the front runner to take the majority of them.
