Adrien Robinson Drafted 127th Overall By The New York Giants In The 4th Round

Adrien Robinson Pre-Draft Analysis

The big Cincinnati tight end has been climbing up draft boards since UC’s Pro-Day in early March. Since coming off of a pretty average season in 2011, NFL scouts have fallen in love with his combination of size (6’4″ 260 lbs) and speed (4.56-40 time). While Robinson’s resume doesn’t scare anyone, those workout numbers have gotten him drafted today. The Giants are getting an excellent blocker and while New York possesses a slew of weapons in the passing game, they will still want to run the ball and should be able to do so well with Robinson on the edge. He’s a gifted blocker who knows understands where his runningbacks are going as well as knowing when to break off and begin blocking down-field. Obviously for Robinson joining the defending Super Bowl champions will be good for his development. His receiving games needs refinement but his size and speed should serve him well between the hashmarks and in goal line situations. He will also not be leaned upon to be a primary threat with Hakeem Nicks and Victor Cruz drawing most of the coverage. So that should allow him to progress at his own pace.

Congratulations Adrien!
