14 Bearcats survived the final pre-season cuts and made NFL rosters. Below is a quick recap of what some of them did in their first statistically relevant NFL game.
Brent Celek: Continues to put up workmanlike numbers for the Philadelphia Eagles as the team’s #1 tight end. He caught four passes for 65 yards on Sunday against the Cleveland Browns.
Trent Cole: Two tackles one of which was behind the line of scrimmage for the powerful Eagle defensive end.
Connor Barwin: Three tackles including a tackle for loss. Just a physical beast for the Houston Texans.
Haruki Nakamura: Playing on an improved defense (probably because of him), he picked up four tackles against the Tampa Bay Buccaneers in the loss.
Isaiah Pead: Didn’t get a touch out of the backfield but did return his first official NFL kickoff for 25 yards against the Detroit Lions.
Derek Wolfe: Had perhaps the best day of any former Bearcat picking up three tackles including a shoestring sack of Pittsburgh quarterback Ben Roethlisberger. Those big ol’ paws are still wreaking havoc on opposing signal callers.
Armon Binns: He has jettisoned to the top of the Bengals’ depth chart and ran with the ones Monday night. Binns tallied four catches for 28 yards in a losing effort against the Baltimore Ravens.
Kevin Huber: A ho-hum night for the Cincinnati punter who boots four kicks averaging 45.8 yards.
