Bearcats in the NFL: Week 2
By Chris Bains
The second week of NFL action is upon us and outside of my fantasy team it was a good week for most of the former Bearcats.
Armon Binns: Lined up across from A.J. Green with the first-team this week and picked up five catches (on five targets) for 66 yards. Green might be Andy Dalton’s favorite receiver but Binns is a close #2.
Kevin Huber: Same old, same old for Huber. The Bengals put on a show offensively against the Browns so golden foot only had a few punting opportunities. He averaged 42 yards even per boot.
John Hughes: After a quite week 1, Hughes exploded onto the scene in his return to Cincinnati. Big #93 for the Cleveland Browns picked up 6 tackles and even sacked Andy Dalton once.
Brent Celek: The Philadelphia Eagles tight end went nuts against the Ravens, catching 8 passes for a whopping 157 yards. It’s clear he’s one of the best tight ends in the league.
Trent Cole: Had a relatively quiet game sacking Joe Flacco once.
Mardy Gilyard: Picked up a tackle on special teams.
Haruki Nakamura: Five tackles in the starting strong safety role with the Carolina Panthers in their victory over the New Orleans Saints.
Connor Barwin: Notched a tackle against the Jacksonville Jaguars.
Isaiah Pead: Returned a kickoff for 12 yards. The most unfortunate news is that it looks like Daryl Richardson has overtaken Pead’s #2 runningback role in St. Louis and he will be relegated to special teams for the foreseeable future.
Mike Windt: Got himself a tackle for the Chargers in their game against the Tennessee Titans.
