Cincinnati Bearcats Ranked in Coaches Poll, Just Outside AP Poll
By Chris Bains
After a stunning win over the Virginia Tech Hokies yesterday afternoon more and more people outside of Cincinnati are jumping on the Bearcat bandwagon. UC jettisoned up the two major college football polls coming in at #23 in the USA Today Coaches Poll and #26 in the AP Poll. They were just outside the Top-25 in the latter poll but still received 72 votes. Obviously it’s great news the program has returned to the rankings after a short stint there last season and being there for the better part of the 2008 and 2009 seasons.
Given the upcoming schedule of Miami (OH), Fordham, and Toledo you can bet cash money that the Bearcats will only rise in the polls and have a crooked number next to them heading into the epic matchup with Louisville on October 26th. The fact that both teams will be ranked at the time makes the game even more intriguing. Bask in the national spotlight, UC fans! This is an exciting time for Bearcat football.
