Bearcats in the NFL: Week 5
By Chris Bains
Cincinnati’s representatives in the NFL again had a quiet week on the gridiron. Still, some solid performances of note.
Brent Celek: The Eagles didn’t have a whole lot going by means of the passing game on Sunday. However Celek was the beneficiary of being an absolutely enormous tight end catching a difficult touchdown pass to give Philadelphia a short-lived lead late in the 4th quarter.
Trent Cole: Notched a tackle against the Pittsburgh Steelers.
John Hughes: Picked up three tackles against the New York Giants who just obliterated the Browns on Sunday.
Armon Binns: Another solid day from the Bengals’ #85 catching four passes for 41 yards in a losing effort against the Miami Dolphins.
Kevin Huber: Cincinnati’s explosive offense got next to nothing going against the Dolphins and, as a result, Huber had a ton of opportunities to boot the ball. He had six punts averaging 40.5 yards and pinning Miami within their own 20 yard line twice.
Haruki Nakamura: Five tackles against the Seattle Seahawks.
Derek Wolfe: The big hybrid DT/DE for the Broncos had a solid day despite Tom Brady passing all over Denver Sunday afternoon. Wolfe did his part, though, picking up four tackles including sacking Brady once.
Connor Barwin: Houston’s OLB/DE wreaked havoc upfront but didn’t quiet do enough to get to the Jets’ Mark Sanchez. He did pick up a pair of tackles and knocked down a pass, though.
