ESPN’s Mike Golic Already Representing The C

The obvious positive impact of Jake Golic transferring from Notre Dame to Cincinnati was that he will provide much needed depth at the tight end position. With Travis Kelce moving on to the NFL, there is a gaping hole there with more questions than answers surrounding it. Golic’s addition to the team will at the very least create competition to allow the cream to rise to the top even if he’s not the one winning the starting reps.

But the added bonus of the tight end joining the Bearcats is that his father is a figurehead on television’s premier sports network, ESPN. If you don’t already know, Mike Golic hosts the morning segment on ESPN Radio that is simulcast on one of ESPN’s channels on TV. And this morning he showed up on set donning a Cincinnati Bearcats polo, it appears in support of his son and his new team. First of all, terrific screengrab by Todd there. Not only do we get a beautiful shot of the C-Paw on Golic’s left sleeve but the face he’s making in this freeze frame is priceless. Nice timing, sir!

Secondly, this is only the beginning of the free publicity the Bearcats should receive as a secondary result of Jake Golic transferring to UC. Expect more shots like this and shoutouts to Cincinnati football on the Worldwide Leader In Sports in the upcoming months and especially during the season.
