Recruiting has really heated up for the Bearcats in the recent weeks. Today, Centerville, Ohio native Andrew Gantz announced via Twitter that he will come to Cincinnati:

Gantz was a three-star place kicker according to 247 Sports and the 7th best at that position in the 2013 class. He originally joined Butch Jones at Tennessee as a preferred walk-on but it seems he has opted to join Tommy Tuberville at Cincinnati. While the kicker typically doesn’t get much attention in football, unless they make or miss a game-winning field goal, it is an absolutely crucial position.

For Cincinnati, they will have to replace Tony Miliano after the 2014 season and it looks like Gantz will be able to come in to make the transition as seamless as possible. Per his class of 2013 profile, the Centerville kicker has a live leg that serves him well on both field goals and kickoffs. As Gantz continues to hone his accuracy and consistency with in-game reps he could develop into another dependable kicker for the Bearcats.
