So says the Denton Record-Chronicle:
"Cincinnati center Kelvin Gaines, who we have talked about a bit over the last few days, has arrived in Denton and is taking the tour of campus/town as we speak.As of this afternoon, it sounds like this has a pretty good chance of working out for UNT."
Well that makes it sound like it’s about as close to a done deal without signing on the dotted line as it could get. While it’s obviously premature to say that Kelvin Gaines is absolutely transferring to North Texas, I tend to agree with the author of the article that this makes too much sense for the UC big man. He probably would have limited playing time for the Bearcats going forward and he can transfer to UNT without wasting a year of eligibility. That immediate playing time is definitely appealing to Gaines who hasn’t seen the floor nearly as much as he probably expected at Cincinnati.
