If watching paint dry and grass grow is one of your favorite hobbies, has the University of Cincinnati got a webcam for you!

In early Spring, UC announced that they were replacing the field turf at Nippert Stadium. It was long overdue as the wear-and-tear from football, lacrosse, and the occasional drunken student wandering across campus after midnight took a toll on the quality of the turf. By the end of the 2012 season, the bright red in the numbers running down the sidelines and in each endzone had faded mightily. Plus anything white started to look gray as overall the field began to show its age.

As a result Cincinnati will be replacing it this Summer. The project will begin soon and for your viewing sleeping pleasure UC’s Audio/Visual team has set up a webcam in the press box to watch the whole thing live. I probably shouldn’t poke fun too much. After all I must have checked in on the Jefferson Avenue Complex construction webcam at least a dozen times each day during construction. But still, if you sit and watch this for more than 5 minutes at a time you should probably consider making some major life changes.
