Crisp. Simple. Stunning.
After Cincinnati’s questionable-at-best uniform combination in the Sugar Bowl in 2009, I was skeptical when rumors started swirling about the Bearcats going all-white yet again on Saturday. Teams have to play about half the season in white but I’ve never been fond of UC doing it at home, especially since they look so darn intimidating when they go with the black or red iterations. Plus those are the school’s official colors. But considering it was a special occasion (an official “white out”) and the first Bearcats football game since what seems like before Mick Cronin had hair, hearing about the team going head-to-toe white didn’t really bother me.
And when I first saw the helmet above, I actually got pretty excited about seeing Cincinnati run out of the cave in their new unis against Purdue. UC will be sporting new Adidas TechFits and complimenting it with these helmets should tie it all together nicely. What I really like is how simple the design is. Cincinnati didn’t go too crazy here, sticking to just two different colors, and I think they pulled it off. The players should look absolutely awesome on Saturday.
Can’t wait!
