Cincinnati 66, Northwestern State 9: Job Well Done.

The Cincinnati Bearcats were good tonight. Really good. Good enough to roll through the AAC and take down Louisville on December 5th? I don’t know. But tonight they took care of business, doing what they were supposed to do in absolutely obliterating Northwestern State. With “starting” quarterback Munchie Legaux out, Brendon Kay took over like he did last season by throwing for 277 yards and 4 touchdowns in a route of the FCS Demons. #11 completed 12 of his 14 passes, leading Cincinnati to a defeat of Northwestern State 66-9.

After the Bearcats’ embarrassing performance against the Illinois Fighting Illini a week prior, UC came out and put on a far better performance against the Demons. Now, this is an FCS team and we can’t take too many conclusions away from tonight’s game but it seems Cincinnati has finally regained the focus they had prior to the season. Perhaps the Bearcats’ loss to Illinois was a good thing for this team. They seem to understand that they can’t take a single snap or game off when pursuing their ultimate goal of a conference championship. Hopefully we see performances like these in the upcoming games for Cincinnati.
