With Chip Kelly bringing his hyper-efficient offense to the Eagles from Oregon, it wasn’t clear just where the Philly tight end would fit in the mad genius’ plans. Kelly always used an uptempo attack to keep their opponents on their heels but most of the damage was done on the ground with the Ducks. And most people figured the same narrative would play out in Philadelphia. But then Kelly discovered second year quarterback Nick Foles was a more than capable quarterback to run the show and elevate the passing game. As such, longtime tight end Brent Celek benefited from the change, seeing his yards per catch and touchdown receptions balloon in 2013. I’m sure he’s a big fan of Kelly’s system.
