Better Know A Bearcats Position Group: Offensive Tackle

The strength of Cincinnati’s offensive line in 2014 starts with the Bearcats’ offensive tackles. On the left side you have potential NFL Draft pick Eric Lefeld who’s heading into his senior season and on the right is fellow senior Cory Keebler. They have about as opposite the amount of in-game experience as you’ll find on this team but both have the size to thrive in their respective positions.

Overall, the Bearcats are loaded with experience across the two-deep at offensive tackle that will pay dividends this season.

Eric Lefeld (#71): Senior

Cincinnati’s anchor on the left side has been a starter for the past two years. His 6’6″, 309 lbs frame along with his quick footwork not only makes him a handful for opposing edge rushers but an attractive NFL prospect. If Lefeld can stay health and continue to perform at a high level in 2014, it will go a long way to ensure Cincinnati’s offense keeps right on kicking ass next season.

Tyreek Burwell (#65): Senior

The transfer from SUNY Cortland has apparently impressed Tommy Tuberville and Darren Hiller so much that he earned a backup role in his first and only season as a Bearcat. Hopefully it works out.

Cory Keebler (#61): Senior

The Lakota East product played mostly as a backup in 2013 but with Parker Ehinger sliding over to right guard he will have an opportunity to start as a senior. At 6’7″ and 294 lbs, Keebler is among the largest players on the team and on paper is the perfect specimen for the right tackle position.

Justin Murray (#74): Junior

The 6’5″, 294 lbs offensive lineman from Sycamore High School has been a perpetual backup during his career in Clifton. Murray’s progression this season could determine whether or not he starts in 2015.
