247 Sports is reporting that Cincinnati Bearcats class of 2015 linebacker recruit Ulysees Gilbert has decommitted from UC.

The Floridian was offered by Tommy Tuberville and crew in January of this year. It was Gilbert’s first offer and one that he resciprocated with a verbal commitment on July 21st, three days after attending at one of Cincinnati’s several on-campus Summer high school camps. The consensus three-star recruit held steady with the Bearcats until today, when he announced he will part ways with UC.

It’s unclear at this point which schools Gilbert will considering now but he does have an offer out there from nearby South Florida. He also camped at Central Florida over the Summer. It wouldn’t surprise me if he wound up signing with either of those schools.

As for Cincinnati, this is a bit of a blow to a class that needed to stock up on linebackers. The Bearcats lose three seniors at this position to graduation; starters Jeff Luc and Nick Temple and rotational backup Clemente Casseus. UC needed to add 1-2 linebackers as it was. Now the coaching staff really has to buckle down in the next two months to secure commitments from quality players at this position.
