Tommy Tuberville Houston Week Press Conference Notes

Cincinnati’s final game of the regular season is just four days away. Prep for this one against the Houston Cougars begins like the first one did three short months ago, by hearing from Bearcats head coach Tommy Tuberville himself.

Stray Observations

  • Tommy Sniffles: 7
  • Briefly mentions that 5 star defensive end CeCe Jefferson, who will be visiting UC this weekend with his parents.
  • Tuberville really, really, really wants fans to show up to Paul Brown Stadium this Saturday. He’s even buying tickets himself to give away for the game.
  • And he doesn’t much care for bowl preference talk.
  • He’s been pleased with Gunner Kiel’s progress this season but believes the quarterback has room for improvement. I can’t help but agree. That being said, it’s not necessarily a bad thing that Kiel is still a work in progress. He’s a sophomore after all and is a couple of days away from completing his first collegiate season ever. I’m sure Kiel will take everything he learned this year to become a better quarterback as an upperclassmen.
  • Right guard Kevin Schloemer is close to 100%. That’s the best news I’ve heard all day.
  • Tuberville speaks about practicing for an aggressive style of offense then becoming more conservative during the game and I didn’t understand one bit of it.
