Nippert Stadium Renovation Construction Update: January 7th, 2015

Tom Gelehrter and Bob Martin are braving the cold and winds today atop UC’s ever growing new press box to provide an update on the Nippert Stadium renovations.

Stray Observations

• Being outside working in a -5 degree windchill probably calls for workman’s comp.
• The good news is most construction is within the actual structure, such as permanent walls and electronics, which should help the workers stay somewhat out of the cold.
• The 500-level, with the president and athletic director’s, is getting pre-cast concrete over the next few weeks, finalizing the structures that will hold actual seats for fans.
• Light poles and the concessions are going into the East concourse.
• What to expect between now and their next update? Glass moving into the area to be placed on the exterior of the press box along with individual room framing.
