1) Who’s backing up Gunner?

Munchie Legaux and Michael Colosimo have exhausted their eligibility.

Returning for Cincinnati is a suspended quarterback Jarred Evans who, while is currently listed on the official roster, hasn’t been publicly cleared to return to the team. Then there’s redshirt freshman Hayden Moore and walk-on freshman Luke Wright. So the Bearcats are a little light on guys who can throw the ball

That’s my biggest concern this spring. Kiel for all intents and purposes is damaged goods. He’s young, he’s athletic, he’s got a cannon for an arm but there’s no indication that he’ll ever fully recover from the rib injury that haunted him in 2014. At this point we need to assume he’s due to miss some time next season, which makes his backup perhaps the most critical component of the offense.

Whether that player is Evans, Moore, Wright, or true freshman Ross Trail remains to be seen. But we’ll get a better idea this spring.
