Bearcats BlogCast: Wrapping Up The Regular Season, Bubble Watch

facebooktwitterreddit

The Bearcats BlogCast returned to the usual Tuesday segment with me joining Scott King (@cardscott5) who writes for Bearcats Blog (@BearcatsBlog) and Matt Opper who writes for Down The Drive (@downthedrive).

This week we spent about 99% of the podcast discussing UC hoops. Other than a remention of wide receiver Casey Gladney not participating in spring practice, we didn’t talk football in the slightest.

And for good reason, really. Cincinnati’s in the midst of their most important stretch of the season in a final push to earn a NCAA Tournament bid. I don’t believe they’re technically on the bubble right now but are certainly one bad loss away from being smack dab in the middle of that group.

That’s why the game tonight against Tulsa is so important, as is the season finale against Memphis. So we previewed both of them and looked ahead to the AAC Tournament and the Big Dance. Here’s a complete rundown of the topics we talked through.

  • The big news around Ge’Lawn Guyn’s departure
  • Recapping the Tulane win
  • Previewing Tulsa and Memphis
  • Discussing what UC needs to do in the next two weeks to be “safe”
  • The AAC and NCAA Tournaments

As always, you can listen to it via the media player below but feel free to subscribe to our podcast on iTunes. We’re also up on Stitcher. We’d love for you to rate and comment on it. Next week we’ll discuss a few more football related topics with UC’s Pro Day coming up on March 11th. We hope you listen in!
