Wednesday night all of #BearcatNation really wanted a win on the road versus Tulsa, the AAC leader. While a few weeks back I went on a twitter rant stating if the Bearcats could go 4-1 in their last 5 games after the Xavier loss everything would be good and after beating Tulsa the Bearcats are 4-0 since the X loss. I know I seem a little off track just bear with me for a second I’m going to tie it all together.
After the X loss, Coach Davis made a couple of lineup changes and one of the additions was adding Farad Cobb into the starting lineup in place of Kevin Johnson. The reward was none bigger that last night as Cobb went for a team high 22 points and scored 22 of the 56 points for the Bearcats. Every time Tulsa seemed to be getting back into the game Cobb had all the answers to the test and kept them at bay. Cobb scored his 22 on 14 shots making 9 of them, including 4 threes; he had his whole game working pull ups, long range and attacking the goal. It seems whenever the Bearcats need a big game Cobb shows up and gets the job done, just ask SMU.
The win last night pretty much locked the Bearcats into the field of 68 and a big reason was Cobb. I know my rant had the Bearcats going 4-1, but honestly I was counting the Tulsa game on the road as a possible loss. Hey, I had to be realistic, but with a game remaining and being at home it’s very possible they come out of this 5-0 before the AAC tournament who would’ve thought that?
Note:
#BearcatNation when Farad Cobb hits a 3 let’s use the hashtag #Cobbb on twitter!!! (Three B’s to emphasize he made a three)
