5) Chris Moore Scores.. And Scores.. And Scores

Cincinnati’s much anticipated game against Ohio State didn’t exactly go as planned. The eventual National Champs steamrolled our beloved Bearcats on their home turf. UC’s defense floundered in the face of Urban Meyer’s offensive juggernaut, allowing 710 yards of total offense and 50 points. When the dust settle the Bearcats were left whimpering out of the stadium with their tails between their legs.

But there were shining moments to be had on that day, the most memorable of which came from #15 Chris Moore.

UC’s outside receiver has always been known for his speed, that God gifted ability to take the tops off defenses with his legs alone, and he put that on display in Columbus. Moore caught just three passes on the day but all of them went for touchdowns.

His first was a beautiful catch over a Buckeye cornerback that he muscled away from him to trot into the endzone. Moore’s second and third were lessons in pure speed, with him simply outrunning every defender in the vicinity. Now, he had a fourth using a bit of trickery but it was called back.

Even so, Moore’s 221 receiving yards were the third most in NCAA history and his 73.7 yards per catch broke the NCAA record set by Terry Gallaher of East Carolina. You can bet if his fourth touchdown had counted that would be somewhere in the NCAA record books as well. You can watch all of them here.
