4) Le-gaux Home, Munchie!
Quarterback Munchie Legaux’s Cincinnati career was nearly shattered to pieces when he tore all of the ligaments in his knee against Illinois early in the 2013 season. I won’t share that video with you because ESPN and CBS Sports Net have already shoved that down your throat plenty of times already.
The consensus was that Legaux’s career was effectively over, as an injury that severe usually takes a year to recover. With Gunner Kiel and Jarred Evans joining the program, he would not only be behind the eight ball entering the 2014 season but severely low on the depth chart. But as it happens, when Cincinnati travel to New Orleans to play Tulane, Kiel was battling injuries, Evans was suspended, and Munchie got most of the game reps against the Green Wave in his hometown.
But he did more than just stand out there, #4 was slinging it! Legaux completed 67% of his passes, among the highest of his career, for 211 yards and a trio of touchdowns. It was the absolute perfect performance from a player who went through so much adversity at Cincinnati and was playing in front of several friends and family.
Alternate Moment: His touchdown against South Florida, at the 22 second mark below.
