Poll: How Would You Grade UC’s New Under Armour Uniforms?

facebooktwitterreddit

The Cincinnati Bearcats unveiled their brand new Under Armour football uniforms yesterday and in general it was met with praise and awe from UC fans.

I graded them favorably overall, an A-, meaning good but not great. I found the design crisp and clean with enough homage payment to UC’s tradition to satisfy the diehard fans. The helmet, a major flaw in my eyes when it was previewed on Sunday, fit well with the overall uniform design. Plus the C-Paw on the sides of the shoulders and the size and placement of the Lindner Center-esque triangles look nice.

On the other hand, Under Armour did away with the cat scratches on the legs. This was a sore spot for many fans but I found them a nice touch. Plus the stripes along the knees are gaudy and unnecessary, just way too much for my taste. Maybe if they were down the sides where the cat scratches used to be, the stripes would be OK. Otherwise, I’m not sure why Under Armour even added them.

But, again, on the whole I like the new uniforms and can’t wait to see what they have in mind for the basketball team.

How about you? What would you give them? Feel free to elaborate on your grade in the comments section below.
