Over the last couple of weeks we’ve been previewing each and every position group that the Bearcats have to offer. We didn’t miss anything, did we? “Fullback” isn’t a think still, right?

Good!

As you probably have heard, Cincinnati is rather loaded offensively this year. Gunner Kiel is a sure fire NFL Draft pick and might be the first UC player to ever be selected before his senior year. He has the weapons around him in six senior wide receivers to put up the numbers befitting of a quarterback ready to ascend to the next level. The only question is if he can remain healthy enough to put up the kind of video game like numbers he’s capable of.

Defensively, the Bearcats are undergoing turnover along the defensive line and at linebacker but are expected to be far deeper this year. Tommy Tuberville even said it himself that 25 players are capable of filling starting roles defensively this season, whereas he only had about 15 last year. That’s a huge leap from a depth perspective and even though UC’s lost key contributors Jeff Luc, Brad Harrah, and Nick Temple, their ability to roll out fresh, talented players on and off the field should be a boon for the Bearcats.
