UC’s Homecoming Game With UConn Will Kick Off At 4:30 PM On CBS Sports Net

The Cincinnati Bearcats’ homecoming game with the UConn Huskies will kick off at 4:30 pm on CBS Sports Net. UC will be unveiling their special homecoming uniforms that, if you recall, is triangles, triangles, and more triangles on a red uniform.

From a tailgating perspective, as Mark Raines points out, 4:30 pm is about as ideal as it comes. Not too early such that folks aren’t setting alarms to get to the Grid and not too late such that families have to worry about their kids stay up through the game. Crowds filter to their tailgating areas in the early afternoon, get to the game, enjoy their post game celebrations, and still get home before it’s too late in the evening.

A win-win for everyone!

The double edged sword in all of this is the fact that this has been relegated to the dreadful CBS Sports Net. The AAC can proclaim until they’re blue in the face that this gets into millions of households, providing exposure for the conference and its teams’ names but I can’t stand it as a chord cutter. Not only does CBS not offer this channel over the Internet in any form, despite streaming every single one of their March Madness games, but the announcers tend to be terrible.

But, the other side of that coin is that folks who don’t have CBS Sports Net will be encouraged to get down to Nippert for this game. I myself, now that the ol’ old man schedule’s died down a bit, will be there. So please, don’t throw too many small objects at my face. I need that for seeing and eating and stuff.
