Cincinnati Football: Ranking Every Game From UC’s 2015 Season
By Chris Bains
5) Miami (OH) Redhawks – (W) 37-33
During the Tommy Tuberville era, the Battle for the Victory Bell has been harrowingly close. Cincinnati’s won each game, sure, but not by the margin that we expect. Brian Kelly beat the Redhawks by an average margin of 29 points. Butch Jones beat them by an average of 36 points. Tommy Tuberville? A paltry eight points and that’s against Miami teams that have won a combined five games over the last three years.
So it’s no surprise really that the score was only 24-23 at halftime, Cincinnati allowed 448 yards of total offense from the Redhawks, and committed four turnovers as neither Gunner Kiel or Hayden Moore could take advantage of Miami’s 80th ranked passing defense.
The good news, and why this game is in the upper half of our ranking, is that Cincinnati did come away with a victory, securing the Victory Bell for the 10th straight year. A loss and this is somewhere in the 10-11 range. But UC emerged victorious, which is never a bad thing.
