12) South Florida Bulls – (L) 65-27

This was a game Cincinnati apparently had no business sharing a field with the South Florida Seahawks, who wound up feasting on the Bearcats’ offense to the tune of six turnovers. Here’s how UC’s drives played out in the first half alone:

  • 6 plays, -6 yards, fumble returned for a USF touchdown.
  • 8 plays, 34 yards, interception from Gunner Kiel.
  • 3 plays, 4 yards, punt.
  • 8 plays, 3 yards, interception from Gunner Kiel.
  • 3 plays, 4 yards, pick six thrown by Hayden Moore, who replaced Kiel after his second interception.
  • 12 plays, 51 yards, field goal. #BronxCheer
  • 6 plays, 33 yards, punt.
  • 6 plays, 23 yards, Hayden Moore fumble on a sack.

Down 51-3 at halftime, we were staring at Cincinnati’s worst loss in the Tommy Tuberville regime and arguably since the Conference USA era when UC was blasted 70-7 by Louisville in 2004. That’s pretty much all you really need to know about this game.
