Cincinnati Basketball: Lowlights, Post Game Presser From UC’s Loss To Houston
By Chris Bains
Cincinnati lost to Houston last night in pretty emphatic fashion 69-56, which was a bit of a drag. It didn’t necessarily kill any hope for this team to make the NCAA Tournament. They were hovering around a 9-10 seed 24 hours ago and dropped to the 10-11 range now. So the loss didn’t bounce the Bearcats from the Big Dance but it simply put more pressure on them to beat SMU at home on Sunday and win a game or two in the conference tournament at the end of next week.
However, it was the manner in which UC lost that was dejecting. Despite taking an early lead on the Cougars, Cincinnati went ice cold from the field, which has been a problem for oh.. I don’t know.. the last decade. It allowed Houston to surge ahead 33-20 at halftime, a lead they would never relinquish.
So it goes without saying that last night’s highlights (lowlights?) were brief, just 1:34. Also why Mick straight up said Houston manhandled them, which was accurate.
