2023 point guard prospect Trey Green revealed his top seven schools last week including the Cincinnati Bearcats. The other programs that are still in the mix to land him are Clemson, LSU, Nebraska, VCU, Virginia Tech and Xavier. Green would be a second addition to the Bearcats 2023 recruiting class.

Cincinnati native Rayvon Griffith verbally committed on May 2.

According to 247 Sports, Green is the 3rd ranked player from North Carolina and the 19th highest-rated point guard in the country. Alongside 2022 5-star recruits Jordan Walsh and Julian Phillips, Green helped Link Academy reach the Geico Nationals championship game in early April.

Even though he is slightly undersized, Green is an aggressive playmaker that creates quality shots for himself and others off the dribble. The 5’10 point guard has a tight handle with impressive decision making in the pick and roll and next level range. He also has the ability to play both backcourt positions.

Cincinnati extended an offer to Green on September 23, 2021 and he took an unofficial trip to campus in late February. Theoretically, head coach Wes Miller would like to pair him with Griffith in the Bearcats backcourt for years to come. He also recently visited Nebraska and Virginia Tech.

Green discussed his thoughts on the Cincinnati program via On3 Recruiting: “Great coaching staff, great culture. Love the atmosphere. They treated me like family when I was on campus. The program is growing with coach Miller being there.”

The Bearcats are recruiting several other 2023 point guard prospects as well, most notably 5-star Isaiah Collier, 4-stars Aden Holloway and London Johnson, and 3-star Lawrent Rice. It’s clear that Miller and his staff are hoping to pick up a guard that can play next to Griffith, and Green seems to be near the top of that list.
