Cincinnati continues to climb the 2023 recruiting class rankings with a commitment from 4-star cornerback Amare Snowden on Sunday afternoon. Following a slew of verbal commitments within the last couple weeks, Snowden decided to join the school-record breaking recruiting class during an official visit this weekend.

The 6’3, 190-pound cornerback has been compared to fellow Detroit native Sauce Gardner and could have a chance to follow in his footsteps. After an illustrious career at Cincinnati, Gardner was selected 4th overall in the 2022 NFL Draft. In just over a year, Snowden will come to campus with lofty expectations and a ton of potential.

According to 247 Sports, Snowden is the 7th highest rated prospect from Michigan and the 34th ranked cornerback in the country prior to his senior season at Roseville High School in the fall. He committed to Cincinnati over scholarship offers from Kentucky, Notre Dame, Ole Miss, Penn State, Wisconsin and more.

Snowden became the 11th highest ranked recruit in program history and the 19th commitment in the upcoming class alongside 4-star cornerback Daeh McCullough and 4-star linebacker Trevor Carter. Cincinnati also received verbal commitments from a pair of Michigan prospects, quarterback Brady Drogosh and tight end Khamari Anderson.

The Bearcats have the 4th highest rated recruiting class in the country per 247 Sports, after surpassing Ohio State and Northwestern in recent days. Notre Dame, Texas Tech and Penn State are the only programs currently ranked above Cincinnati. Snowden is also expected to play for the Bearcats baseball team during his career.
