The upcoming AAC Football Media Day will take place on Thursday, July 28. Even though the event is virtual for a third consecutive season, there will also be coverage from the conference’s studio in Irving, Texas. Each program will have a 30-minute media availability and fans can watch exclusively on ESPN+.

Cincinnati Football: AAC media day scheduled for July 28

After an opening statement from conference commissioner Mike Aresco, the Bearcats are scheduled to take the stage at 11 AM. Cincinnati will be represented by head coach Luke Fickell, graduate defensive lineman Jabari Taylor and senior receiver Tre Tucker. The event is set to start at approximately 10 AM.

There will be additional interviews with College Football Playoff Executive Director Bill Hancock, Armed Forces Bowl Executive Director Brant Ringler and Tulane Athletics Director Troy Dannen. The preseason media poll will also be revealed during the 7-hour show, hosted by ESPN announcers Kris Budden and Rene Ingoglia.

Cincinnati should definitely be considered for the top spot in the AAC preseason poll, after winning back to back conference championships, but Houston and UCF are legitimate contenders as well. Memphis and SMU are projected to round out the top-five with East Carolina, Tulane and Tulsa in the mix.

The Bearcats finished in first place with an 8-0 record last season before beating Houston in the AAC title game. Houston also entered the game with an unblemished record in conference. East Carolina, Tulsa and UCF each went 5-3 in conference play and should be able to secure bowl eligibility for a second straight year. Tulane and South Florida are expected to be much more competitive this coming season.
