Prior to his senior campaign, 4-star point guard prospect Jizzle James cut his list of potential schools to three including Cincinnati, Georgia and LSU. James is the 6th ranked recruit from Florida and son of former NFL running back Edgerrin James.
The Orlando native previously took an official visit to Georgia and is set to again alongside trips to Cincinnati and LSU this fall. James will spend a weekend with the Bearcats in late September followed by his final visit to LSU on October 8.
Wes Miller has been trying to build on the 2023 recruiting class after recently missing out on Michigan State commit Xavier Booker and Xavier pledge Trey Green and a potential commitment from James would be a significant addition.
4-star guard Rayvon Griffith remains the only commit for next cycle but 5-star guard Isaiah Collier has to be the top target for Miller. Collier is the #1 player in the country per 247 Sports and is looking at Alabama, Cincinnati, Michigan, UCLA and USC.

Cincinnati Basketball: 4-star guard Jizzle James narrows list to three schools
Even though he might not be the Bearcats top priority, James shouldn’t be far off because of his dynamic ball handling, high motor and mid-range scoring ability. The 6’1 point guard is undersized but possesses next level shiftiness and speed.
James broke down his thoughts the Bearcats coaching staff via 247 Sports:
"“I have Cincinnati because of the bond with the coaches. I talk to them almost everyday. I didn’t get to visit yet but I know it’s a great environment, a basketball school and the tradition there is big. I like the mentality they have so it’s been great.”"

In addition to the three finalists, James received offers from several other programs like Florida, Georgetown, Ole Miss and Providence before narrowing his list. According to On3, Georgia (35.6%) and LSU (31.2%) are the favorites to land James.
Following the recent announcement, James looked ahead to his decision date with 247 Sports:
"“Before November 9 for sure but I don’t know the exact date. I’m thinking November 1-7. One of those dates because my last visit to LSU is on October 8 and then I will do another Georgia visit for a football game.”"
