Fortunately for the Bearcats, there are no injury concerns leading up to the season-opening matchup against Arkansas. On the other sideline, the Razorbacks will be without junior running back Dominique Johnson and possibly two other starters.

Cincinnati Football: Injury report for Razorbacks as season opener approaches

Dominique Johnson (RB)

After tearing his ACL in the Outback Bowl last January, Johnson returned to the practice field for individual and no-contact drills on August 22. He should be back in September but is still expected to miss the season opener.

Arkansas head coach Sam Pittman updated Johnson’s status per 247 Sports.

"“I don’t know if he’ll be ready this week but I sure hope he will be ready by South Carolina. The great thing is he hasn’t had any swelling. He’s been out there but hasn’t had swelling on it so hopefully it continues that way after today’s practice.”"

Johnson totaled 575 yards and seven touchdowns on 97 rushing attempts in 13 games last season before exiting in the Outback Bowl win over Penn State. The Texas native missed nearly 30 spring and fall practices prior to coming back last month.

Jadon Haselwood (WR)

Following three seasons at Oklahoma, he transferred to Arkansas and will take over as the top target if healthy. Haselwood missed a few practices in late August but is expected to start at slot receiver against the Bearcats.

Luke Fickell recently touched on Haselwood’s impact via Cincinnati Athletics.

"“He’s a really good and dynamic player. Obviously led Oklahoma in receiving last year but in what ways will they use him? That’s what we have to figure out. The reality is, they have athletes that they’re going to put in position to get the ball.”"

Brady Latham (LG)

Another player that is dealing with a minor setback is the junior offensive lineman. Latham missed a few practices in late August with an undisclosed injury but all signs are pointing to him taking the field on Saturday afternoon.

The 6’5, 307-pound right guard has started every game the past two seasons. During his absence in practice, Latham was replaced by starting right guard Beaux Limmer and that forced backup right tackle Ty’Kieast Crawford into the first team.

Other players on injury report

Johnson, Haselwood and Latham are the only starters with injuries as the season opener approaches. Backup center Marcus Henderson, quarterback Kade Renfro and receiver Jaedon Wilson will be out this weekend for various reasons.
