Following a bye week, Cincinnati returns to action at SMU on Saturday afternoon with a chance to remain unbeaten in conference play. Kick off is scheduled for noon and will be broadcasted on ESPN and fuboTV.

The Bearcats haven’t lost a conference game since falling to Memphis in 2019 but that might come to an end this weekend. SMU has an explosive offense that could cause problems for Luke Fickell’s defense and keep the home crowd fully engaged throughout.

After losing to UCF in the conference opener a week ago, SMU bounced back with a much-needed win against Navy on Friday night. The Mustangs jumped out to an early lead and was able to improve to 3-3 including losses to Maryland and TCU last month.

Cincinnati Football: TV coverage, where to watch Week 8 matchup

  • Date: Saturday, October 22 at 12:00 PM
  • Location: Gerald Ford Stadium in Dallas
  • TV Broadcast: ESPN and fuboTV
  • All-Time Series: Bearcats (5-1)

The Bearcats have won three in a row against SMU including a 48-14 blowout win last season but the upcoming matchup should be much closer. During a recent press conference, Fickell discussed the level of confidence from his team via Cincinnati Athletics.

"“From the time we started fall camp, coaches know the areas we need to grow and some of the deficiencies that you’re going to have to develop, but it’s a group that doesn’t see or think that. It’s a very confident group. In some ways, we had to humble ourselves after some situations. But I do believe they’re growing into their own, recognizing we have to do things a bit different from the last two years. It all has to work together. I think we’re in a good place, offensively, defensively and special teams.”"
