After recording three straight clean sheets to end the regular season, the Bearcats women’s soccer team clinched the 3-seed and will take on 6-seed SMU in the AAC Tournament on Sunday at Gettler Stadium.

According to Cincinnati Athletics, admission is free with kick off scheduled for 1:00 PM. The elimination matchup will be televised on ESPN+ as both teams look to secure a spot in the conference semifinals.

Cincinnati clinched the 3-seed with recent wins over Houston and South Florida before a scoreless draw against East Carolina in the regular season finale a week ago. The Bearcats finished unbeaten at home for the first time since 2017 with a 7-0-2 record.

In addition to going undefeated at home for just the sixth time ever, the Bearcats tied the second-most home wins in a single season (7) in school history. It also marked the first time since 2019 that Cincinnati recorded clean sheets in three consecutive games.

Bearcats junior goalkeeper Anna Rexford had seven clean sheets this season and will attempt to keep it going against SMU on Sunday. Following the win over South Florida, Neil Stafford broke down the undefeated streak at home via Cincinnati Athletics.

"“We had a challenging schedule this season so I think that’s a great feat. You’re just proud because what we did in training translated to the field. To see that translated to the field is really special. I thought the mentality today was as good as anything else we did. It’s a good combination for us. I think we’re difficult to play against and the results showed that today. The fans were amazing today with tons of energy. You want to make the fans happy. The way we play is exciting and fun to watch.”"
