Even though the offense struggled at times during the second half, the Bearcats were able to hold off Navy for a 20-10 win on Saturday night. In addition to bouncing back from the loss last week, Cincinnati extended its historic win streak at Nippert Stadium.

Ryan Coe connected on a pair of field goals to put the Bearcats up early and Tyler Scott added to the lead in the first half. Ben Bryant hit Scott on the sideline for a dazzling 38-yard touchdown to take a 13-0 lead.

Scott grabbed his second touchdown of the night with a 27-yard score as Bryant found him streaking towards the end zone in the third quarter. Navy cut into the deficit with a late touchdown but it wasn’t enough as Cincinnati secured a double-digit win.

Dontay Corleone came up big in the win, compiling a career-high 11 tackles to help contain Navy’s triple option attack. Ivan Pace Jr. continued to dominate as well, finishing with a game-high 14 total tackles, two tackles for loss and one sack in the 20-10 win.

Despite recovering from a recent ankle sprain, Scott accumulated 10 catches for 139 receiving yards and two touchdowns. Bryant rebounded from a rough performance in the loss last week with 299 passing yards, two touchdowns and zero interceptions.

During the postgame press conference, Luke Fickell broke down the victory via Cincinnati Athletics.

"“It’s always a tough one and a hard fought game. That’s a good ball club that always gives us their best. There is a fight in that crew that never quits but I’m proud of our guys because they’re the same. Their backs were against the wall this past week after taking a gut punch. Everybody goes through it but we’ve been fortunate to not have to go through it as much. You find out a lot more about who you are and what your leaders are really like when you go through weeks like that. We’ll find out again because we have another one gunning for us and it’s going to be a quick turnaround.”"
