The Bearcats men’s and women’s basketball teams are scheduled to open the regular season on Monday with a pair of intriguing matchups. Both games will be available on fuboTV and several other networks.

Wes Miller’s team is hoping to improve from last season after finishing with an 18-15 record in his first year with the program. In order to compete on a consistent basis, the Bearcats will have to be more balanced offensively and defend at a high level.

Cincinnati is set to host Chaminade at Fifth Third Arena with a chance to gain confidence and build momentum before heading to the Maui Invitational later this month. The regular season opener will tip off tonight at 7:00 PM on ESPN+ and fuboTV.

A few hours before the men’s basketball team takes the floor, the Bearcats women’s program will travel to Louisville for a matchup against the 7th ranked team in the country. Louisville is coming off a trip to the Final Four led by star guard Hailey Van Lith.

The Bearcats will have extra motivation to pull off an upset since head coach Michelle Clark-Heard is facing her former school. After spending six seasons at Louisville under Jeff Walz, Clark-Heard was hired by her alma mater Western Kentucky in 2012.

During a recent press conference, Clark-Heard previewed the matchup via Cincinnati Athletics.

"“It’s going to be a great experience for me. It’s a little different because I went back there at Western Kentucky so I’ve been there before as a head coach. I’m excited for our girls and for them to be in that environment and have that experience. When you’re a basketball player and are always reaching to be the best version of yourself, you want to play in environments like that. It’s always about helping put them in the best position to win. There are going to be learning curves in that game. Jeff is a great coach and they have a great program.”"
