Pickerington Central 2023 offensive guard and defensive tackle Keilan Smith announced his commitment to join the Bearcats on Sunday evening!

Following his senior campaign, Smith earned All-Central District Division 1 First Team recognition and is projected to be a preferred-walk on next season.

In addition to Cincinnati, the Pickerington product received interest from multiple major schools including Duke, Louisville, Iowa State, Rutgers and Virginia.

Smith picked up scholarship offers from Bowling Green, West Liberty and others before deciding to become a part of Scott Satterfield’s initial recruiting class.

Despite being an unranked prospect, Smith is a physical force on both sides of the ball that could carve out a role on the defensive line later in his career.

The 6’2, 335-pound prospect is set to join the Bearcats defensive line room alongside a pair of fellow incoming freshman Kamari Burns and Brian Simms III.

Even though he has the ability to play multiple positions, Smith is expected to remain on the interior defensive line during his career at Cincinnati.

Satterfield decided to retain defensive line coach Walter Stewart, who played an instrumental role in adding Smith and several other prospects.

Cincinnati Football: Elder wide receiver Justin Re breaks down commitment to Bearcats

Cincinnati native and Elder High School senior wide receiver Justin Re committed to his hometown Bearcats last month and recently broke down his decision!

Re competed in a camp at Nippert Stadium last summer and attended the win over Navy in early November before making his decision in January.

The senior receiver discussed his commitment to Cincinnati as a preferred walk-on and why the coaching staff will have success in a recent interview with me.

After undergoing plenty of roster turnover, the Bearcats new-look staff desperately needed to address the wide receiver room and Re will add more depth.
