Cincinnati Basketball: David DeJulius beats the buzzer to lift the Bearcats over Central Florida
By Charles Post
Cincinnati senior guard David DeJulius drilled a game-winning shot in the final seconds to lift the Bearcats to a 73-71 win over conference rival Central Florida on Sunday afternoon!
Despite trailing for most of the second half, it appeared the Knights were going to force overtime after going on a 5-0 run to tie it before DeJulius knocked down the buzzer-beating floater.
All five starters scored in double figures as DeJulius finished with 16 points, eight assists and five rebounds. Landers Nolley II totaled a game-high 18 points and four rebounds in the win.
Ody Oguama compiled 15 points including a pair of impressive poster dunks, while Kalu Ezikpe started his third straight game and racked up a season-high 12 points and six rebounds.

The Bearcats desperately needed to get back on track after a disappointing loss at East Carolina this week and Wes Miller’s team responded with arguably its best win of the season.
With just three games remaining in the regular season, Cincinnati will look to keep the momentum going against Temple on Wednesday night. Tip off is set for 7:00 PM at Fifth Third Arena.
During a postgame press conference, Miller discussed the last-second win over Central Florida and explained why DeJulius deserved to make the game-winning shot via Cincinnati Athletics.
"“I’m super proud of David DeJulius. He deserved to have that one go in the way he’s worked and how invested he is. I know he took it really hard when he was in a similar situation at Tulane. He shouldn’t because he’s been terrific for us all year but he took it hard. The neat thing is that he keeps coming back to work. He wanted the ball again in that same situation and he made a big-time play.”"
