Check out the biggest storylines to keep an eye on as the Bearcats opened spring practice today including an intriguing quarterback battle, plus offensive line and secondary questions!
It’s difficult to gauge which quarterback has an inside track to starting but the most likely outcome seems to be Ben Bryant or Emory Jones, with Evan Prater and Brady Lichtenberg also in the mix.
Bryant decided to return for his sixth year after suffering a broken foot in November, while Jones announced his transfer to Cincinnati following the hiring of Scott Satterfield in December.
Satterfield has a tendency to lean towards dual-threat quarterbacks so Jones is the presumed starter but the others could certainly gain ground with an impressive spring performance.

The defensive line is arguably the Bearcats’ strongest position group featuring All-AAC members in defensive tackles Jowon Briggs and Dontay Corleone, plus defensive end Malik Vann.

With the upcoming Spring Game scheduled for April 15 at Nippert Stadium, the Bearcats will continue to develop the new-look roster as the initial Big 12 campaign quickly approaches.
