As the program prepares to host a ton of talented prospects at the Spring Game tomorrow, Cincinnati Bearcats latest commit Daniel James looked ahead to the annual event.

Following an impressive junior season that included totaling 46 tackles, 15 pass deflections and one interception, James announced his commitment to the Bearcats on Monday.

James became the Bearcats second 2024 commit, joining Dayton native and 3-star offensive lineman Jake Wheelock, as head coach Scott Satterfield looks to build a strong class.

With the Spring Game scheduled for Saturday afternoon at Nippert Stadium, both commits are expected to be in attendance as the new-look Bearcats compete in front of a full crowd.

Prior to his senior campaign at McEachern High School, James is the 47th ranked cornerback in the country and the 64th highest rated recruit from Georgia according to 247 Sports.

The Georgia product took an unofficial visit to Cincinnati in early April and picked the Bearcats over scholarship offers from Kansas State, Kentucky, Pittsburgh, Tennessee, West Virginia and more.

Just days after verbally committing to Cincinnati, James discussed his expectations for the upcoming Spring Game and reflected on his recent visit in an interview with me.

"“My visit was amazing from the time I stepped in to the time I stepped out. They showed a lot of love for me and my family, which led to my commitment. Being from Georgia, Cincinnati is about six to seven hours out. I learned a lot from my visit. They have a lot of achievements that people don’t know about. After watching the practice on my visit, I hope the guys play great in the spring game. They showed a lot of discipline, not only in drills, but throughout practice and them being on a strict schedule with meetings, class and practice. My relationship with the staff is probably at its peak right now. They showed a lot of interest and that they want me.”"
