A few days after verbally committing to the Cincinnati Bearcats, 2024 3-star defensive back prospect Daniel James reflected on what went into his decision in a recent interview.
Following an impressive junior campaign at McEachern High School, racking up 46 total tackles and one interception, James announced his commitment to the Bearcats on Monday.
James became the second 2024 prospect to verbally commit, joining Dayton native and 3-star offensive lineman Jake Wheelock, as Scott Satterfield’s staff looks to build a dominant class.
The Georgia product took an unofficial visit to Cincinnati earlier this month and picked the Bearcats over Kansas State, Kentucky, Pittsburgh, Tennessee, West Virginia and more.

James discussed his expectations for the Spring Game, most recent unofficial visit to Cincinnati this month, relationship with the new coaching staff and more in an interview with me.
"“My relationship with the staff is probably at its peak right now. They showed a lot of interest and that they want me. My visit was amazing from the time I stepped in to the time I stepped out. They showed a lot of love for me and my family, which led to my commitment. Being from Georgia, Cincinnati is about six to seven hours out. I learned a lot from my visit. They have a lot of achievements that people don’t know about.”"
