There were plenty of takeaways from Bearcats head coach Scott Satterfield’s initial Spring Game including a developing quarterback battle and notable performances from a couple of freshmen!
Even though it’s unclear which quarterback will be named the starter heading into September, the current favorite should be transfer Emory Jones as he enters his first season in Cincinnati.
Jones looked comfortable in the pocket and showed off his dual threat ability, throwing for two touchdowns in the Spring Game, highlighted by a 16-yard score to tight end Payten Singletary.
Despite still recovering from a season-ending broken foot in November, sixth-year signal caller Ben Bryant led multiple scoring drives and should remain in contention to earn the starting job.

In addition to having success in the transfer portal, the Bearcats were able to bring in several impressive freshman including quarterback Brady Drogosh and slot receiver Barry Jackson Jr.
Just moments after the Cincinnati freshmen connected on a first down catch, Drogosh found Jackson streaking down the sideline for a 34-yard touchdown reception on Saturday.
